Our Mission

Senior Finance Guide exists for one reason: to give Americans aged 50 and over the plain-English, research-backed financial information they need to make confident decisions about Social Security, Medicare, retirement savings, and more.

The financial system is complicated. The rules around Social Security alone could fill a textbook — and they change regularly. Medicare has Parts A, B, C, and D, Medigap policies, and dozens of plan options that vary by state. We cut through the noise.

Who We Are

Senior Finance Guide is an independent editorial publication focused exclusively on personal finance for people over 50. We’re not a bank, an insurance company, or a brokerage. We don’t sell anything. Our editorial team researches topics deeply, draws on official government sources, and writes in clear, accessible language.

Our writers have backgrounds in financial journalism, retirement planning research, and consumer advocacy. Every article goes through an editorial review process before publication.

Editorial Standards

We hold ourselves to a strict editorial code:

  • Accuracy first. We cite official sources — SSA.gov, Medicare.gov, IRS.gov, and peer-reviewed research. If we don’t know something, we say so.
  • No paid placements. We do not accept payment from financial service providers to influence our editorial coverage.
  • Transparency about affiliates. Where we link to third-party products or services, we disclose any affiliate relationships clearly.
  • Regular updates. Financial rules change. We review and update articles when regulations or guidance change.
  • Reader focus. Every piece is written for the person who needs to understand it — not to impress industry insiders.
